Evangelos S. Kroustalis
With over two decades of field and academic experience, he is an accomplished archaeologist (PhD). He studied archaeology at the University of Athens (1997-2001) and earned an MA in Archaeology and Prehistory from the University of Sheffield, UK. He completed his PhD at the University of Athens with a thesis entitled “Contributions to the Historical Topography of the North Slope of the Acropolis and the Surrounding Area” (2018). Since 1997, he has participated in several systematic excavations in Salamis, Kythera, and Antikythera. Since 2004, he has supervised rescue excavations in Piraeus and its environs for the Ephorate of Antiquities of Piraeus. He specialises in applying surveying methods and techniques in archaeology. He has also been a licensed tour guide since 2024.

Christina Marabea
Dr. Christina Marabea is an archaeologist specializing in Prehistoric Archaeology. She has been an active field archaeologist since 1997. She has participated in various research projects about Aegean Archaeology and History. From 2016 to 2021, she worked as an Archaeology lecturer, teaching Prehistoric Archaeology at the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Ioannina. Since 2025, she has worked as a lecturer at the Hellenic Open University. Since 2017, she has been a co-publisher of the Journal Enalia, a scientific work of the Hellenic Institute of Marine Archaeology. She has received eight research grants from Greek and foreign institutions. She has published three monographs and co-published several edited volumes. Her research has also yielded more than 40 publications in scientific journals, honorary volumes, conference proceedings, and excavation reports.
Gely Fragou
Gely Frangou studied Archaeology at the University of Crete (2003) and also obtained a Master’s Degree from the University of Southampton (UK), supported by a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (2006). In 2025, she submitted her PhD Thesis at the University of Bucharest. Since 2001, she has participated in systematic excavations and research conducted in Crete, Antikythera, Kythera, ancient Thouria (Messenia), and ancient Helik. Since 2008, she has been working as a temporary archaeologist at the Ministry of Culture, carrying out rescue excavations in Kefalonia, Kyparissia, and the wider area of Messenia as well as in eastern and western Attica, Piraeus, and Salamis. Since 2010, she has participated in the planning and organization of excavations on the islands of Kythera and Antikythera, and from 2013 to 2018, she was responsible for implementing the academic program in collaboration with the Educational and Research Center of Greek Culture (MEKEP) in ancient Thouria. She has published scientific papers in conference proceedings in Greece and abroad.
Ioannis Smyrnaios
Ioannis Smyrnaios holds a PhD in Archaeology from Cardiff University. He specializes in Archaeometry and Early Iron Age ceramic technologies. He taught Mediterranean Archaeology at the undergraduate level for five years. He participated in archaeological excavations in Greece, the United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, and Sudan. He maintains a long-standing membership in the British Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIFA) and directed two private archaeological units in Britain. He published four academic papers, delivered 7 presentations at international conferences, and authored 32 archaeological reports. He masters surface and excavation research, analyzes ceramic and stone finds using Petrography, SEM, XRD, and XRF, and designs archaeological studies.
Meletis Kotsenas
Civil Engineer. Graduate of the University of Patras (2008). Holds a postgraduate diploma in Monument Protection from the National Technical University of Athens (2011). Since 2012, he has supervised restoration works as a Ministry of Culture contractor on ancient and Byzantine monuments in Tinos (Monastery of Agios Nikolaos Vanis), Salamis (Colones, funerary monument), Boeotia (Holy Monastery of Saint Luke & archaeological site of Orchomenos), Mandra, Attica, and Sikyona (Holy Trinity Church of Vasilikos). Since 2024, he has worked on the restoration project on the Athenian Acropolis. As a freelancer, he prepares dependent topographic diagrams and provides cadastral surveying services.
